Blog Journal #7
I actually just lost my entire Keynote presentation. All of my documents disappeared so I started over on a new app called Haiku Deck. Don't worry, this presentation actually is looking and sounding a lot better than the first one. I really like this new presentation app so much more than Keynote. I am upset about my documents disappearing, but I feel like I needed a new start anyway. I will be able to still get done by the deadline since I am almost at the same point I was when I left off.

Blog Journal #6
I just now started working on more of my Keynote and I am now adding one of my own Photoshop photos to it. I will be starting another photo next Friday to myself. I wanted to completely change both a stranger and someone everyone knows. I want to Photoshop myself to show just how much people can change someone to something even I can't look like without hard work. I believe doing this will show the classroom a whole new outlook on how models are represented on a day to day basis.

Blog Journal #5
I finally figured out how to smooth this girl's skin tone better with the Bandaid tool. I also brightened up her eyes with the hue and saturation tools. I may have to make her eyes a little darker yet as they look almost too much for the photo. I have had a lot of new experience Photoshopping a person and I now see why models always look so great. They even basically wish that they could look like the person on the magazine. I will begin working on maybe one or two more different girls to Photoshop and then continue on my Keynote. I need to fix a couple more things on my Keynote and add a lot more slides to it. I have a good message to this project. Things are not what they seem.

Blog Journal #4
I worked on smoothing out the girl's skin that I am Photoshopping. At first I used the Filter option and added noise to her as well as blur and scratches. I followed on with the video I am using to make this work, however I did run into problems and I now have to start over from where I left off last Friday. The problems that are coming up are simple things I should have paid attention to before I started working on the Photoshop process. I forgot to create a first layer of my original girl before I made another layer where I edited her. This made it so that I cannot make her skin smooth like the guy did on the video. My plan for next week is to try and attempt to do this process again and find another way to smooth her skin. I will look for a couple more videos and hope for the best.

Blog Journal #3
I worked mostly on my Keynote today. I came up with the title "Perception of Beauty." I did this because this is basically what my entire project is about. I also added more photos to the Keynote and some extra slides. The photos are of models who seem perfect. I am also working on photoshopping some of my own women. I am taking their imperfections completely out and making them look "model" material. So far I have been using the bandage tool and I will be doing more to this person next Friday. I want to be able to brighten her eyes, skin tone, and hair. I have a video that helps me learn these tools on how to do this as I go.

Blog Journal #2
I researched two different things today. First, I researched how to Photoshop a model through Youtube videos. I found out how to smooth the skin as well as take away pimples and freckles. This research helped me understand how to make the women still look realistic while making them look "perfect." I also started working on my Keynote presentation that goes along with this. I completed three slides and I am still working on a unique title to the assignment.

Blog Journal #1
What topic did you decide on & WHY did you choose this topic?
I decided on the topic of our perception of beauty. I chose this topic because it is seen everywhere in today's society. People like me become discouraged from these "flawless" models on magazines and TV. I want to show exactly how much the model doesn't even look like herself.
Write 3 questions, or 3 things that you are wondering about what you would like to focus on for your topic.
What makes these women perfect?
Why does society edit the flaws of a real human?
What gives authority to these Photoshop people to do this and still be able to sleep at night knowing others cannot.
What ideas do you have to present this topic for your project?
My ideas are to put this into a Keynote presentation. I will even create my own before and after pictures in Photoshop as well as show some that are already made.
Name at least two resources you will need to use to help you with this project.
Two resources I will need are Keynote and Photoshop.
What do you think will be the most challenging part of this project?
The most challenging part of this project will be creating my own Photoshopped images of women and/or myself.

Assignment #1
Digital Design Information
- Why did you take this class? I took this class to learn more about the digital design program as I am planning to go into college and study multimedia animation.
- What do you hope to learn from this class? I hope to learn more about this technology and maybe even learn animation skills in this class.
- Do you have any digital design background? I do not have much digital design background, but I am very good with technology and a fast learner. I have used iMovie and some photo editing as well as an animation app.
Information About Myself
Technology has been a role in my life since I was born. I enjoy learning the concepts of technology and have become quite an expert in some cases. I have been able to fix my own computer at home since I was about twelve. I also enjoy the time spent watching Disney movies. I know that may sound childish for a moment; however, I plan to pursue a career as an animator for their company. I absolutely love art, technology, and my childhood memories and decided to put them all together. A career as a multimedia animator is my all-time dream waiting to happen. Aside from my nerd personality, I also bowl and have been since I was ten. I enjoy this sport very much and plan to continue bowling until the end of my life. This is where Ball State comes into play as I will be applying there to study animation and bowl for their team. To sum things up, I am excited for my future.
